Greetings from our summer 2023 board retreat in beautiful Maine.
As you can see from the photos, we’re having a great time – and it’s a family affair!
In the midst of Minga's 20th year, it's a great joy and privilege to gather together again, joined by a new generation of Minga board members, and a new generation of humans. We'll share more photos and updates from the retreat in the weeks to come.
For now, though, on to the big announcement!
Back in January, we set out to create two new partnerships for our anniversary year. We couldn’t be more excited to announce that the first of these two new partners will be . . . Peacekeeper Society!
Peacekeeper Society – or Peacekeepers – is a female, Indigenous-led organization located on the Yakama Indian Reservation with a mission to provide life changing opportunities for Indigenous people.
Peacekeepers has a vision to ensure that families are healthy, happy, independent and connected to their cultural traditions. Their programs address emergency response/mutual aid, traditional foods, grief recovery, water access, and much more. We look forward to learning from and with Peacekeepers about the relationship between preservation of Indigenous cultural heritage and individual and community health.
Now through November, we’re asking you to help us raise $7500 to support this vital work and help it grow.
Your gifts will fuel our collaboration with Peacekeepers to build organizational capacity for program monitoring and evaluation. Not only will this guide program development, it will also open new doors to funding and further collaboration.
Please support Minga – and all our partners – today!
Did you know? Minga's work is driven by an all-volunteer board, who cover the costs of their participation. We keep our operating costs low so more of your donation goes directly to our partner organizations.
